After the live breakthrough of At Fillmore East, The Allman Brothers Band began work on Eat a Peach. The death of slide guitarist Duane Allman during the album’s making left an indelible mark on the record, but the band carried it through to completion. Studio songs and live performances share the grooves, from “Melissa” and “Blue Sky” to the sprawling “Mountain Jam.”
This 2016 double-vinyl reissue gives that chapter of the band’s story room to breathe across two LPs.
